Rural ways

LOCAL ACTION, LOCAL PEOPLE, LOCAL PROJECTS

Who are we and what do we do?
Fieldfare is a rural and farming network group and is the only organisation that delivers LEADER  in Winchester & East Hampshire. LEADER is a funding delivery mechanism for the Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE).

LOCAL ACTION: We work in partnership with Defra, Winchester City Council and East Hampshire District Council to support the local rural economy.

LOCAL PEOPLE: The Fieldfare Local Action Group (LAG) is made up of local farmers, foresters, rural businesses, community organisations and representatives from East Hampshire District and Winchester City Councils.

LOCAL PROJECTS: We only fund projects that benefit the rural economy of Winchester and East Hampshire. Who have we supported? Look at our list

Where does LEADER funding come from?
RDPE is funded by Defra (the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs) and the European Union as part of the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD): Europe investing in rural areas. 'LEADER' stands for Liaison entre actions de developement de l’economie rurale (integrated action for rural development).
