Egg Day Nursery

Room for Fledglings with view to the kitchenEgg Day Nursery has hatched!

Up to 69 Hatchlings (3 months to 2 years old) and Fledglings (3 to 5 years old) can now be accomodated for both full and half day stays in a beautifully converted Methodist Church in Sutton Scotney.

A key aspect of the LEADER funding process is a close relationship between the LEADER team and grant awardees. Projects are followed with great interest, it's wonderful to see the grant money put to such good use.

LEADERThe applicants, Mr. and Mrs. White, received 2 grants in total: £12,500 for carefully chosen and designed indoor play and learning equipment; and £8,000 for a specialist outdoor play surface.

When we visited lunch was being prepared by the in-house chef (vegetable curry for the Fledglings), an introductory session was being held for Mummies and Hatchlings, and the brilliant recycled rubber chip outdoor area was being thoroughly enjoyed!

More Fledgling spaceThe upstairs space is specially designed for the extra-little ones, as is the downstairs space for the 3 to 5 year olds.

Not only does the nursery cater for rural childcare needs, it is also proving to be an excellent source of employment in the local community - it has been a more than worthy candidate for the LEADER funding.
