Ron has a passion for woodland management and has been awarded national recognition for his contribution towards his profession.

With a modest grant from Fieldfare Local Action Group, Bereleigh Estates purchased a forestry tractor to help Ron manage the vast woodlands that the estate own.

The estate provides a haven for bees, birds, mammals and wildflowers and on a particular woodland area that Ron has been working on with the tractor, he has identified 12 new (to the estate) species of wildflower.

"These flowers have laid dormant unable to flourish because of the woodland growth, the tractor has helped me to manage an area effectively and it is so exciting to see the environment change" Ron told David Webb during a recent follow up visit by the Fieldfare Local Action Group.
