East Stratton Village Hall
East Stratton Village Hall was granted just under £12,000 of LEADER funding to install an air source heat pump as part of extensive renovation plans.
The Local Action Group approved the project as it benefited a rural community (it heats the building which is used as a pre-school) as well as improving energy efficiency (it will reduce heating costs by 80%). The Carbon Trust and the Building Research Establishment recognise air source heat pumps as renewable energy, for more information on the technology, please click here.

Feedback from Brian Wallis, Chairman of the East Stratton Village Hall Management Committee:
"I am writing to express my gratitude for the very generous RDPE Leader grant, which has enabled us to install an energy efficient air source heat pump heating/cooling system into our new hall at East Stratton. The heating system will save on average £600.00 per annum on our energy bill, significantly reducing our running costs and CO2 emissions.
The RDPE LEADER funding has been a tremendous help and the new hall will be a wonderful asset for the community to use."
