Simpy LEADERS

As an experienced business coach and mentor, Ed Beckmann identified that some applicants to RDPE needed more help to explain what they wanted to achieve through a LEADER grant.

In discussion with Ken Brown, Programme Manager with Fieldfare LAG, Ed developed a proposal that
• Provided workshops to help people put their supporting evidence together to submit a LEADER application and
• Offered consultation sessions to help applicants develop their project plans

The benefits of this project were:

- people understood the need to present robust financial and market need information
- applicants felt more confident to submit an application
- the grant panel recognised improvements in the standard of information being supplied by applicants who had received support
